Lil Wayne goes to Jail

One of hip-hops finest rappers in the game, Lil Wayne, will be sentenced to twelve months in prison starting March 2, 2010. Over the past three years, Lil Wayne has fallen into trouble with the law. Repeatedly, Lil Wayne has been caught with possession of weapons and of drugs. Unfortunately, Lil Wayne has not learned from his mistakes and will now be facing time for his misdemeanors. The Grammy award winning rapper originally was supposed to serve time earlier, but his sentence was postponed because of “dental work”.

Lil Wayne’s behavior is obnoxious and inexcusable. The man is rich and famous; instead of presenting himself in a classy way he continues to act ignorant. In 2007, Lil Wayne was charged for possession of weapon and in 2008 possession of drugs. Even though he broke the law, he made the choice to not learn from it and repeat the same actions. Although, I listen to Lil Wayne’s music I do not agree with his behavior. He should have received more than twelve months in prison, for making the choice to repeat breaking the law. It bothers me how celebrities can get away with large crimes so easily compared to an average American. Whether a person is rich or poor, black or white, male or female, gay or straight it shouldn’t matter; we are all equal under the constitution and should get charged with crimes the same way.

A New Kardashian

Sunday night, on E!, was the finale of the Keeping up with the Kardashians. In the episode Kourtney, the eldest sibling, had to make the decision on taking Scott, the baby daddy, back into her life before her child’s birth. Of course, the last episode Kourtney made a scene, changing the locks of her house, and promising she would never go back to Scott; but just like every other episode she does this, she welcomed him back into her life. Although, Kourtney’s family was upset by this news, the birth of Kourtney’s baby, Mason, overshadowed the negativity. After the baby’s birth, Kourtney made the decision she was going to return to her Dash store in Miami with her sister, Khloe. Most of the family was shocked and skeptical of her decision because she just had a baby. I think that Kourtney should take care of the baby first before she jumps into any big projects. In the end, her decision is probably not even going to matter because I think Kris, her mother, will ultimately be taking care of the baby or a full time babysitter. Scott is obviously too young and immature to have responsibilities at the moment and Kourtney does not know how to handle situations where she has to put lots of work and effort. Hopefully the two can get it together and be at least decent parents.

More Commercials than TV

This past weekend, I sat at home and decided to watch some TV for blogging ideas in my living room. The only negative aspect of watching TV in my living room is that there is no DVR box like in my own room; I though it wouldn’t be an issue, but I was clearly wrong. With a DVR box I am able to pause live TV, rewind it, and record it. Without a DVR box TV was painful to sit through; I couldn’t pause the show I was watching and come back to it later free of commercials, instead I had to watch the dragging idiotic ads. It was absolutely absurd just how long these commercials are, most consisting a full five minutes! If I’m watching a half an hour program one-third air time is just full of annoying commercials. At the point of frustration I decided to change channels when the commercials play and every channel that I turned too was also displaying commercials! I got so annoyed I gave up the idea of watching TV. I rather stick to my fifteen TV inch in my room with a DVR box than sit and watch commercials.

Tiger Woods a Sorry Man

After months of hiding out from the public, Tiger Woods finally came out and made an apology speech about his past actions. In the apology speech Tiger apologized for cheating on his wife, not representing his sponsors well, and overall disappointing the public. Overall, while watching the fourteen minute segment on YouTube, I kept thinking “Who wrote this speech for him?” The speech was obviously written for him and when Tiger read it the speech sounded a bit too rehearsed. Do I think he is sorry for what he did? Honestly no, he knew what he was getting himself into when he had over ten mistresses. I think the only thing he is really sorry for and regrets is all the bad publicity it has caused him, as well as a decrease in his fan base. All in all, Tiger isn’t a socialite; he is a talented golf player. The scandals won’t stop Tiger from playing the sport he loves; it’s only a matter a time before he’s back on the field.

Ray J seaching for love off screen

Reality TV show reunion's are known to get wild and crazy; they completely fulfill the idea of television entertainment. One of Vh1's reality show's, For the Love of Ray J, aired a reunion last week that was filled with lots of controversy. Although, I did not watch the whole second season of Ray J's dating show I did tune in to the reunion because it was speculated to contain "must watch" drama. Speculations were right there was lots of drama. Before the directors brought out the season winner, MZ Berry, Ray talked to the lady's (other contestants), about their quest to fall in love with him. There was an unexpected turn of events, when Ray reached out to one of the woman and told her he wished they could have a second chance, followed by a kiss. At that point I was confused; was he and lady who won "his love", MZ Berry, still together? Later, all the questions would be solved followed by more drama.

After, Ray left the scene and went backstage MZ Berry came out and confirmed that she was still in love with Ray J and hadn't seen him in five months. I was shocked when I heard this because only a couple of minutes ago he was all over another girl. Later on Ray’s player ways were exposed when last seasons winner and several of the other contestants confirmed that Ray had hit them up in the last five months and were both involved. Ray did not directly deny the rumors, but he yelled and argued with last seasons winner for the remainder of the reunion. All in all, the rumors confirmed that Ray J has not changed since his old ways when he exposed Kim Kardashian and his sex tape for the whole world to see. He is a complete tool and should stop trying to give the public the impression that he is a good guy that just wants to fall in love. I hope after this reunion he does not try to make another dating show and returns back to his failed career.

Celebrity Fit Club Fail

Celebrity Fit Club is back on for a new season filled with D-listers that want to shred a couple of pounds. One of the contestants is Bobby Brown, a former singer and addict to drugs. Although, Bobby Brown has claimed that he is sober from drugs that does not include alcohol. In the show, Bobby Brown said he was committed to changing his bad habits including his unhealthy diet. Unfortunately, Bobby did not follow through with what he said and instead got completely wasted on four to five beers and a glass of vodka. After seeing this behavior, I was just appalled. I mean he's being filmed for the whole world to see and instead of betraying his diet with a slice of cake or cookies he gets himself drunk? A person who commits themselves to a goal must give 110% if they want to succeed, not 50%. Furthermore, Bobby's behaviors demonstrates that a person who seeks to surpass a goal in their life needs to first succeed underlying problems. In Bobby Brown's case, he needs to fix his diet and resist his quench for alcohol before he commitments himself to losing weight. Overall after observing , I think Bobby Brown is best suited to be on Celebrity Rehab with Doctor Drew instead of Celebrity Fit Club.

Classic Disney Movies

Last week, during the last two snow days off, I was forced to stay at home because the roads were to bad to venture out. Since, I had nothing to do I decided to watch my favorite Disney movie The Lion King Youtube-HD. After, watching The Lion King I fell in love with it all over again. The music and plot is so moving I really couldn't see why any person at any age would not like it. I compared the Disney movies from the past like Aladdin, the Beauty and the Beast, and Hunchback of Notre Dame, to the present Disney movies. Honestly I couldn't find one movie in the last decade that has compared to any of the Disney classics. Disney needs to step up their game and make a new fairy tale classic movie.

The man who can't be stopped...

Nate Robinson, a basketball player on the New York Knicks, won the Sprite Dunk Contest for the third year in a row. What makes Nate Robinson different from the rest of the competitors is his height. While most of his competitors are six feet tall and up Nate Robinson stands alone at only 5'9. Even though, his height may be short as a basketball player his spirit isn't; Nate can jump at incredible heights - making outstanding dunks. It is truly incredible to see a short man defeat the odds surpass his competitors despite his height. As well, Nate Robinson is the only basketball player to have won the Sprite Dunk Contest three years in a row. He has really changed the standards in basketball.

Family Guy's Meg turns over a New Leaf

Last Sunday on Family Guy, the most comedic cartoon show on television, viewers witnessed the daughter, Meg, go to prison. Although Meg is rarely found in big trouble, she was caught hiding an escaped convict. Meg’s intentions were not to harm the safety of others, only to save the man she loved. Unfortunately, her small crime sentenced her to three months in prison. Meg walked into prison as a causal boring teenager and left prison as a hardened tough criminal. It was funny and odd to see Meg act bad ass because it was so unlike her character. Meg’s change in character goes to show that prison is a serious punishment that has the ability to change small time offenders into hardened criminals. I feel as though the penal system in the country should be regulated so that small time offenders do not get mixed up with those who have committed serious crimes. Mixing the two offenders, only leads to more criminals and delinquents.

The Blood-Thirsty Demons we all love

In the duration of the last couple of years, vampires have become extremely popular. Throughout the entertainment industry including: films, television, and books; vampires are taking over. Some of most popular television and movie films are: Vampire Diaries, True Blood, and The Twilight Saga. The vampire craze has captured people from a large range of ages. In fact CW’s Vampire Diaries pulled in 4 million views on last week episode, making it TV’s #1 show among females ages 12-34, stated by Perez Hilton Blog Site. What is it that has suddenly spiked the public’s interest in vampires? Is it their good looks? The fact they are immortal? Whatever the matter is these blood thirsty characters are not leaving your television screen anytime soon. The real question is have you been reeled into the vampire craze too?

Jersey Shore no long in Jersey?

As you all may know The Jersey Shore will be returning for a season two. The hype over the show has made producers decide to start production earlier than usual. Since it's too cold to shoot in the winter the Jersey Shore Cast will venture out into a new destination to start filming. When I heard this news I was mixed with happiness and anger. I for one love the Jersey Shore, it is entertainment at its best; hearing the news that the show would air in the summer gave me relief and excitement. Now Jersey Shore fans would only have to wait six months to see Snooki partying it up instead of a whole year. Although, I was excited I was still mad to hear that they would be partying in a new location. I mean common it’s called the Jersey Shore, so it’s not going to be the same if it’s not shot in Jersey. Taking the cast of Jersey Shore out of Jersey is like taking the cast of the Real Housewives of Orange County and throwing them into Camden, NJ; it just wouldn’t work. Hopefully, wherever the cast is located they remain the tan fist pumping Guidos/Guidettes that we love to watch.

Pants on the Ground

General Larry Patt, better known as the man behind the phenomena of “Pants on the Ground”, has cashed in lots of money. While looking for new songs on iTunes this past week, I saw “Pants on the Ground” as one of the top ten songs under the category Rap for Music. I was shocked to see that the YouTube hit was remade into an actual song on iTunes and was now generating lots of money. Personally, I think it’s great that a man in his sixties can make such an impact through music. It really goes to show that you’re never too old to stop chasing your dreams.
