Not so Pregnant

Glee, Fox's newest series, has recently became a hit across the country. The show follows Will, an optimistic teacher, whose goal is to bring talented individuals together to create the best Glee group. The group Glee consists of twelve high school students who have vocal and dance skills. Despite the odds, the twelve students are able to come together and express their talent through the help of Will.

During the season, Will's wife becomes fearful that their marriage may not last. There differences and separation through Glee has made his wife become worried enough to have a hysterical pregnancy. Although the wife is not pregnant, she believes she is and tells Will the news. After, visiting the doctor's office Will's wife realizes she is not pregnant, but is not willing to let go of the fact. In spite of her urge to keep Will by her side, she fakes her pregnancy for several months. With her sister, they plan to fake the pregnancy the whole way and adopt a child when the due date comes. Even though Will's wife is naive enough to believe her plan will work Will is not as stupid as she thinks. While rummaging through a dresser, Will find's one of the padded baby bumps his wife would wear under her shirt. When Will confronts his wife he is full of anger and rage. She has no choice, but to tell him the truth and in the process ruins her marriage.

While watching the episodes where the wife tried to fake the pregnancy I was shocked by her behavior. I asked myself: how could anyone fake a pregnancy? Apparently, she was unable to fake her pregnancy for long without getting caught. I still don't understand how the husband didn't notice she was lying at all. The wife's attempt to keep Will demonstrates at what great lengths people go to keep the people closest to them. I don't see why people like to beat around the bush instead of just telling someone straight up what is bothering them. Beating around the bush and acting hysterical just causes further problems. All in all, I think it was crazy the wife tried to fake a pregnancy and that she couldn't tell her husband what they real problem was.
