Oxygen’s most entertaining reality television show, Bad Girls Club season 4, is coming to a close. While anticipating for the last episode to air I reminisced about the events that occurred during the season. Bad Girls Club is a show that consists of “bad girls” from different parts of the country; the girls come together under one roof in LA. The cast member that stood out from the rest this season was Natalie Nunn, a native of Los Angeles who is driven by her hunger for money. Repeatedly, Natalie makes her point to the other girls on the show that money is the most important thing in life and that it buys happiness. A dispute later occurred over the statement made.
One of the season’s most unforgettable moments was the argument between Natalie and Portia, another cast mate. The two had tension between them from the beginning and it only aroused when Portia told Natalie that she was foolish to believe money is the key to happiness. Both were headstrong over their opinions; ultimately, leading to a physical altercation and Portia to be sent home.
Although, the argument was entertaining to watch it presented an important message behind the drama, whether money buys happiness. I don’t believe money buys a person happiness; only temporary satisfaction. For instance cruising on a yacht is fun while everything is new and exciting, but in the end a yacht cannot talk or love a person. It is sad that most of society is blinded by the idea that money is the key to living life. Without the one’s that make it special life itself is meaningless.
